Australian Astronomy Website

What is it?
This is a website devoted to Amateur Astronomers across Australia.
Why?
Many websites offer lots of information for Australians, but you may have to visit several sites to obtain the basic information you are seeking.
Australian Astronomy attempts to make your search easier by bringing lots of information into the one place to save you from searching all over the net

Any information that I cannot give easily, or fit into this site, I will provide a link directly to the source of information rather than you having to go look for it.

If you have any information which you think may benefit Australian Amateur Astronomers, please email it to me at: HERE

Welcome to the
Australian Astronomy Website
We are very fortunate to live in a relatively dark country. You don't have to travel far from our major cities to enjoy pristine dark skies.
Astronomy as a hobby is gradually gaining interest in Australia, which in turn, brings a wider range of telescopes, binoculars and Astro accessories into the marketplace giving amateurs a greater variety of choice.

We are also fortunate in Australia to have a high caliber of Astrophotographers in Anthony Wesley, Paul Haese, Scott Alder, Bert van Donkelaar and many others. All prepared to share their imaging techniques and lend a hand at Astronomy camps.

With quality imagers and helpful assistance, Astrophotography, in fact Astronomy in general, will advance in leaps and bounds among those willing to pursue our hobby.

The increasing availability of good quality, affordable equipment in Australia has also made this hobby more inviting to the general public.

Enjoy your visit here, and I hope you return regularly to take advantage of this service. Feel free to leave a message in the Guestbook.
