COMING UP IN THE
JULY SKY

Mars is just above Saturn in the low western sky just after Sunset.

Saturn is getting lower in the Western sky. You have to be quick to observe or photograph this beauty, as it sets quite early now.

Jupiter is up all night giving magnificent views and photography opportunities.

Scorpius is also up all night, giving a wealth of outstanding objects in both Telescopes & Binoculars.

Sagittarius is following Scorpius through the sky.
Sagittarius is a very rich area of the sky always giving great rewards with popular objects like Trifid Nebula and Lagoon nebula and many more.

Virgo Cluster is now low in the north/western sky giving a very rich Galaxy Field which is a favourite for Galaxy Hunters.

Coma Berenices Galaxy field is rich in Galaxies for those lucky enough to have a good low northern horizon. Coma has become very low.

The Australian Sky This Month

July 2008

One of the best sources of information on our Australian sky for each month is compiled by Ian Musgrave in Melbourne. I could attempt to place all the information here, but Ian has already detailed everything from Planets to Comets, Lunar Phases to Star Maps.

Our thanks go to Ian for his dedicated work in keeping us up-to-date each and every month.
